where’s health guidelines in public transport sector?

State Minister of Vehicle Regulation and Bus Transport Dilum Amunugama stated yesterday (04) that with the re-emergence of the Corona, health guidelines will be strictly enforced in public transport again.

He said that only SLTB and private buses have been instructed to carry passengers only for the number of seats.

Also, people traveling on public transport were required to wear face masks. Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Railways VS Polwattage stated that steps will be taken to check the body temperature of passengers arriving at the railway stations and to provide hand washing facilities.

However, no one traveling on public transport to the offices today (05) saw the health advice. People who used to take public transport to their offices were severely inconvenienced as even the public buses that used to travel on the highway used to avoid coming to Gampaha saying that there were no people.

Body temperature was not checked at any of the stations.
