Shemara first began her career as a corporate lawyer, joining the Macquarie Group in 1987, and in 2018 became its Managing Director and CEO. She currently holds the position of CEO of 20 companies in Australia.
Half a century after arriving in Australia, she became the first woman to become Australia’s highest paid CEO in 2019. In 2021, she has raised $ 16.39 million, the bank said in its latest report.
