The report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to look into political revenge was handed over to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Retired Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyratne, Chairman of the Commission, handed over the report to the President at the Presidential Secretariat.
The three-member Presidential Commission of Inquiry was appointed on January 9, 2020.
Investigations by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, FCID, CID and the Special Investigation Unit of the Police entrusted the Commission with the investigation of political revenge victims and their background from January 08, 2015 to November 16, 2019.
The Commission has conducted a deep investigation into serious fraud, corruption, abuse of state resources, privileges, power and authority.
According to the newspaper advertisement, 1971 complaints had been submitted for investigation. The report consists of 03 volumes and 2043 pages.
