Minister of public services provincial councils and local government, Roshan Ranasinghe said that, it is very important to appointing public representatives as soon as possible for the function of provincial councils. He was speaking at the media briefing held in Kandy.
He said that, there are failures can be seen because of official try to do some responsibilities related on public representatives.
He further added provincial council election will be held as soon as possible to appoint new public representatives for people.
Due to absence of public representatives the expenditure is reduced by about 5% but rest of other expenditures is same as before. Without public representatives the productivity of provincial councils is in law level. Therefor it is important to hold provincial council and elect people representatives.
