There is a Plans afoot to establish a special team of former Army officers to guard prisons.
Prisons Commissioner General Thushara Upuldeniya stated that a team of 200 people is planned to be deployed for this purpose.
Mr. Thushara Upuldeniya stated this while participating in a function held in Badulla.
