Media minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that, they will hope to start Media studies institute in next few months to create media professionals who are endowed with the professional skills that the modern world can face.
According to the vision of build a prosperous country, the Ministry of Media states that this institute will be established under the auspices of the state – sponsored institute of higher education with international standards to create highly skilled media professional journalists.
This program will start by centering with Sri Lanka foundation institute and the courses for this year 2021/2022 will be started. They suggest to establish this training college by covering all the forms of media including print, electronic media and new media.
Among this proposal, it should be set up as an independent institute.
A discussion in this regard was held at the Ministry of Mass Media and Information yesterday (15) under the patronage of Cabinet Spokesman .Keheliya Rambukwella.
