The media has reported that the government has launched a program to provide dry food relief bags to quarantined families. This bag of dry food was given to some isolated areas and to quarantined families, but not to others. There was no one to look into this either.In such incidents, individuals are reluctant to quarantine. Because there is no proper process for that.It was reported from Anuradhapura yesterday (27) that three self-quarantined families were faced lot of difficulties without food.They say that except for the police officers, the Grama Niladhari of the area and health services didn’t pay any attention to them so far.Commenting on the situation, Thilina Niroshan said that he and several members of his family had quarantined themselves on the 18th due to associating with a person who had come from the Gampaha area.
He said that since the day of the quarantine, neither the Grama Niladharis nor any other relief team had come to look after them and that the family and relatives were self-quarantining and the neighbors were not helping.
