Is SLFP going too? Decision today

A senior SLFP leader told the website that he was wondering whether he would step down and leave the government before being ousted from the cabinet.

It is reported that a group of 11 parties working with the government will meet today to discuss the current situation following the removal of Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila from their portfolios yesterday.

The spokesman further said that Nimal Siripala de Silva and Mahinda Amaraweera, who are in the cabinet representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, have refused to leave the cabinet and the government and due to that situation a decision in this regard is still being postponed.

Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Minister of State Dayasiri Jayasekara recently stated that he would resign from the government if the majority of the party’s Central Committee states that he should leave the government. It is learned that party stalwarts such as Mahinda Amaraweera, Duminda Dissanayake and Lasantha Alagiyawanna have suggested to the party that it is appropriate to leave the government with the current situation.
