Sirasa Night News reports on yesterday (17) that a large contingent of motorbikes with engine capacity and a very comfortable jeep convoy held a motorbike rally from Colombo to Kalpitiya while ordinary people were queuing for fuel.
This high powered motorcycle force had about 300 motorcycles and they had to face mass protests on their way to Kalpitiya. But the police also appeared on behalf of the motorcyclists and provided them with the necessary security to go on the ride.
After Sirasa reported about the rally, social media reported that the visitors were Namal Rajapaksa’s friends and supporters. Responding to the social media posts, Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has stated that he has nothing to do with the motorcycle rally.
