The HRCSL has received a large number of complaints with regard to the process of quarantining persons. So the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has issued a set of guidelines on regularising the quarantine processes.
In a letter addressed to Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, HRCSL Commissioner Ramani Muttetuwegama stated that the HRCSL continues to recognize the need to restrict freedom of movement and liberty of people in the interests of public health and public order during a health emergency such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
The letter sent by the HRCSL is below link.
