With the arrival of the covid 19, Muslim people were faced very complex issue. It is regarding people who died from the covid 19. According to their religious norms and values, they should burial dead bodies who died from the corona virus.
According the gazette issued by the health ministry by including the guidelines of the pandemic, the followed above guidelines unwilling. Dead bodies were overloaded in the hospitals. Muslim people were request from the Government in several times to burial dead bodies who died from the corona. But this question is not solved.
Meanwhile United Nations also stated dead bodies can be burial according to health guidelines issued by the WHO. So there was technical committee appointed to found this issue with the leading of professor Jenifor and nine special doctors. Within this situation in the country, few days ago in the prime minister Mahinda Rajapakse was stated that give permission to bury corona dead bodies. It was goo new for the Muslim people.
In this time, committee leading with professor was submitted final report by giving permission to burial Muslim dead bodies. In this report included 7 policies to burial procedure.
But already Ministry of health failed to issue gazette on guideline which are included in the final committee report.
Minister Rauf Hakeem asked from the Parliament, what is reason for extending this issue continuously when PM giving permission.
