Could not conduct postmortem on people who died of the virus in the Ragama Hospital…

As the second wave of the Covid 19 epidemic, it has been revealed that the leading hospitals in Sri Lanka could not conduct postmortem on people who died of the virus.

This  information has been revealed in a letter written by the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka to the Director of the Colombo South General Hospital, Ragama, WM Shelton Perera, requesting that their bodies not be destroyed during the investigation into the Mahara Prison massacre victims.

The commission wrote the letter after questioning government officials and prison rights activists about nine of them are corona patients, people killed in the Mahara prison attack.
