Conspiracies against the government will not be allowed again – Roshan Ranasinghe

Minister of State Roshan Ranasinghe says that if the minority parties want to work together in the government, they should talk openly and work together and that the conspiracies carried out in 2015 will not be allowed to happen again.

The Minister of State was responding to a question raised by a journalist while participating in a development program held in Aralaganwila last evening (09). He was asked by reporters what he thought of the former president’s discussions with minority parties.

“If we are together in a government, we have to be of one mind. Everyone should come together and speak openly. otherwise, It is difficult to work together in a government with criticizing all the steps of the government.

There are a lot of minority parties that have been committed to building SLPP since 2015. They have a loyalty to our government. They are trying to protect the government. Meanwhile some people are carrying out various conspiracies and the conspiracies committed in 2015 will not be repeated. I say that responsibly.

We have a responsibility to protect this country. We saw what the ‘Yahapalana’ government did in 2015. The Central Bank was robbed. The Easter bombing claimed many lives. The former President is not responsible for them and the former Prime Minister is not responsible for them. The former government is not responsible either. That is the situation. Therefore, the Attorney General’s Department should immediately take the perpetrators of the Easter attack to court, regardless of their reputation. All this happened due to the conspiratorial destruction of the country by the previous ‘Yahapalana’ government.

Economic growth slowed to 2.7. The rupee depreciated. The debt which was Rs.7000 billion was increased to Rs.14000 billion. The Central Bank was robbed. The national security of the country was destroyed through the Easter bomb. I don’t know if those involved are sometimes ready to conspire. But I would like to say that they are not allowed. ”

Here, a journalist was asked about his position on selling the country’s resources to different countries.

“Now the well-governed government is leasing the Hambantota port we built to China for 200 years. There is a problem with that. But I think it would be nice if the loss-making companies could lease it out for 15 years and build some other infrastructure and then invest it all back in 15 years. Let’s take a simple example. Someone puts in some money and somehow starts a small shop. But there is no money to buy goods to sell in the shop. Is there any point in closing a shop built for lack of money? not. Rent it for about 3 years and then take that rent and then he can continue it. One such thing is the Yugadanavi power plant.

Even at the Western Terminal, the unions said to build this to invest. That’s why it was leased for 35 years. What the Rajapaksas always did was to bring investment and build our country.

They have not done the stupid thing of leasing ports for two hundred years, as the former President and Prime Minister did during the period of ‘Yahapalana’ governance.
