A complaint has been lodged with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) seeking an impartial inquiry into the killings at the Mahara Prison that left at least nine people dead and more than 100 injured.
The complaint was lodged on December 1 by the Prisoners’ Rights Protection Committee.
Sudesh Nandimal Silva, General Secretary of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Prisoners made this statement to the media after the complaint was lodged.
