The Government is focusing on imparting knowledge on gender in Sri Lanka’s premier Defense University.
Cabinet approval has been granted to obtain funds from the Commonwealth University Association for this purpose.
The Department of Government Information has announced a project proposal submitted by the General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University under the theme “Raising Awareness of Gender in the Community of the University Community”. The Commonwealth University Association has agreed.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Monday (December 6) approved the proposal made by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defense to obtain the grant from the Commonwealth University Association.
The Department of Government Information further announces that the Commonwealth Universities Association was established in 1913 with over 500 member institutions in more than 50 Commonwealth countries.
The mission of this Association is to promote and support the excellence of higher education for the benefit of individuals and societies living within and outside the Commonwealth.
