Ban the burqa and madrassa schools in Sri Lanka…

Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera, Minister of Public Defense says that steps will be taken to ban the burqa and madrassa schools in Sri Lanka as per the recommendations of the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter attack.

He made this statement while making a special statement regarding the Easter attacks in Parliament yesterday (10).

He said that although it was possible to prevent the attack, it was clear from the ongoing investigations that a number of incidents had taken place before the Easter attack, but if they had been properly analyzed, the suspects could have been arrested and prevented.

However, the assassins were able to launch the attack easily as the intelligence services were completely inactivated and the morale of the army was reduced to zero and the CID was politicized and national security was reduced to zero, the Minister said.

The Minister said that 11 extremist organizations operating in the country will be identified and action will be taken to ban them soon.
