It has been revealed that one third of the suspects arrested by the Bribery and Corruption Commission during the first eight months of this year were members of the Police Department.
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption states that 30 suspects were arrested in 25 successful bribery raids during the period from January 1 to August 31.
Ten of the 30 suspects arrested are members of the Police Department.
The second largest number of arrests were made by civilians. That number is six.
Three persons including the Divisional Secretaries working in the Divisional Secretariats were also arrested during that period.
